Marvel team up Spider-Man, Yellow jacket and the wasp.

I was going through some of the comics I didn't finish reading that my friend gave me for the trip down to Texas and I found one that made me excited! It was the marvel team-up of Spider-Man, YellowJacket  and the wasp. 

Now first things first the cover made me laugh a bit. It has Spider-Man holding The wasp back from Yellow Jacket "maybe" dead on the ground saying she'll avenge him. Ok right there is the funny part. She treats him like shit first off always starting fights in the middle of battles. The first page shows spiderman happy to be coming home to eat dinner with his Aunt May but is randomly attacked by a weird fire ball that can turn into ice. He gets hit and gets knocked out. Then it goes to Janet looking out the window talking about Hank and his lab. After reading a bit of it I knew it was before Hank slapped her. She said that Hank has been cooped up in his lab all week and hasn't really paid any attention to her.

He finally come out and Hank tells her he inhanced his Yellow Jacket powers by making them stronger and adding a few more things. Janet doesn't really care and says she just wants him which I understand if he has been working hard and she hasn't really seen him. Hank sees this flare of light on the bridge near their apartment and worries someone needs help but Janet says it was nothing and wanted him to focuse on her. I think Hank shouldn't of listened to her but after he saw another bright light and Spiderman droping from under the bridge. Saving him he brought him back to his apartment until he woke up. They both questioned him on some villains that could of attacked him and Spidy remembers giving the touch and Icey a clue on a robbery. They both came up against some guy called Equinox who was both fire and Ice. He stole an atomic clock filled with jewels but left them because he blew himself into a billion atoms before the torch could turn him into the cops.

After telling Hank and Janet about him Spiderman was about to leave but his Spidy seances went off and sure enough Equinox starts fighting all of them. Janet is really useless in this battle because her stingers don't effect him. To tell you the truth she seem kind if useless in most of the battles. Just my opinion. There a few other things that go with the battle but I don't want to say all the good things. 

One part that made me mad was Janet was trying to use her stingers on mr flame ice guy which didnt work and he turns around and slaps her in her wasp form. She then decides to turn around in the battle and yell at Hank for not giving her new powers. What the hell Janet. You know I'm glad you got slapped by mr fire ice guy. You even pissed Hank off and he slapped you too. She didn't cry from mr fire guy but she did for Hank? Yeah I get she was married to him but still. She makes me mad sometimes is all. Over all I liked it. Sad part is I need the second one so Chris find it for me you goobie!!! :P 

Age of Ultron

Everyone always hears about a new comic series that's going to come out months ahead of time and are even teased with sneak peaks of them. This has been out for awhile now and I was so excited! I held off reading it for a bit since I have som any things to read but once the 3rd for 4th one came out I had to read it because everyone is saying it sucks.


I read it then and I have to say it wasn't as I hoped it would be. It looked so cool. How can you mess that up? Just reading it, it's really slow even though the writers put a lot of time into creating it. The art work I thought was really good. I don't know I thought it would be a little different. From the picture they showed us it looked like Ultron was back to fight the avengers again.



If they did that I thought it would if been cooler. They don't really have Hank Pym in it at all. I saw him in the 6th issue that's about it. I know there going to show him more in the upcoming issues. I saw a sneak peek and he looks awesome! If you want to check it out go for it but its not what I thought it would be. Other than that its not bad :)

Ant man

Since I'm in the ant man mood I decided to read another comic my friend found me when messing around at a few comic shops (which was fun!) This was a different kid of ant man story which I thought was very interesting.

In this story Janet ( known as Giant girl in this story) is helping the avengers fight some alien bugs but gets distracted by her father calling her. First things first why the hell would you be on your cellphone when your battling alien bugs? That's the first thing I thought was weird. Her father is telling her they Hank has been missing for days and wants her to stop by the lab.


Of course she has a crush on Hank and for the once she actually isn't acting like a bitch in a comic. I thought she was actually cool in this one. Another thing that surprised me is Spider-Man is in the avengers helping them fight and helps Janet through out the story. I thought the avengers hated Spider-Man? Anyway Spider-Man and Giant girl go to the lab and see what's going on. He tells them Hank has been missing for days and took all his research with him and even his helmet ( it was recently just made and new to everyone). Janet also meets Hank's assistance Erik Josten who is obsessed with Janet. He knows she likes Hank and is trying everything to get her to notice him and even date him. Totally not going to work.


While walking through the lab Spider-Man sees a trail of ants that spell out "This way" and even an arrow that shows the way they want him to go. He finds " Ant man" really tiny hanging out with the ants at the ant hill. Too tiny to hear Hank shrinks Spider-Man down to ant size and tells him his been researching ants for a few days and has even emailed Erik. Erik knew the whole time because Janet went through his deleted mail to find that Hank has been emailing him the whole time giving data and even telling him all his discovers. She was really mad and even tryed waking out but Erik.

Mad at him Janet walks out and Erik walks in the lab to get a yellow pym particle suite to show off the Janet but fights her instead. Spider-Man gets returned to normal size the help him and Hank even calls the avengers but they were useless in this battle. Erik just takes there aircraft and throws it at Janet apologizes after he does it saying he would never hurt her. Dude you just threw it at her!

Hank uses his pym particles and beats him up a little knocking him out and saves the day. Captain America asks him if his ever considered being a superhero but he says no he belongs in the lab. Is that all the avengers ever do? just ask everyone that saves there butts to be on there team because they always get beat up?

I thought it was a fun issue about ant man. Different from him fighting and saving people's life's. I would recommend it if you have nothing else to read or just see it at your local comic store. Worth the read. :)

Wolverine deadpool the decoy

I saw the cover of this comic and decided I had to get it. I love Deadpool his such a nut! You know if Deadpool is in it it has to be good. He tends to make the comic. I haven't ran into a bad comic with Deadpool yet and I hope I don't have to.


The comic starts out with Wolverine fighting a big alien robot that came from outer space. Of course when a robot comes down from space it tends to kill people and destroy a town or two which it did. Wolverine can't eat it because it's focused on killing Jean Grey, a girl from the X men I'm pretty sure he dated since he talks about how much feelings he still had for her even thought she died. The robot leaves him on the ground beaten up and Logon decided he can't do this alone. He could walk away but if he does a lot of people will die due to the robot looking for a person that is dead or he can get someone dumb e ought and that can deal with pain to distract the robot so he can rip it apart. Well..... I'm sure you guessed he went to deadpool and right away its funny.




Logon goes to Deadpool's house when his singing in the shower and scares him. Thus begins his craziness. He wouldn't cover his junk even when Logon asks him too and takes a shower with his mask on. Who does that? He decides to take the job so they both go and fight the robot Deadpool and Wolverine style. Funny parts throughout the battle and even some good fighting panels. There is an extra at the end of the book I think based on the old deadpool comics I thought was good.





Now would I recommend this book to someone? Yes I would! If you like a good laugh or are a deadpool or even a wolverine fan I would pick up a copy. I don't think it's hard to find and worth your money. You won't be disappointed.

Backlash

I haven't done a comic review for a long time so I thought what the heck I'll do a few this week. I got told to read this comic by a friend just to try it out and I have to say it was pretty tuff. I only read a few pages I just couldn't read any more of it.



I'm normally not one to set a comic down. I'll read it if I have to or if someone really wants me to but I just couldn't read the rest of this comic. It reminded me of X force maybe the Rob Liefeld one (haven't read any of them, not going to but I've seen them) or the other X force. The art style is what gets me I think. I love to look at a good comic with art that people took time to draw. Not saying they didn't but I feel that they could of taken more time to draw it or got (no offense) better artists to draw the work.

As any good artist they know it takes time to draw a good picture. Heck I've even drawn a really good picture just to see it torn up or even ruined in the end. It sucks too! I'm just saying more time could of been done with that. The other thing about it is that it reminds me of the Rob style or look. It doesn't have the deformed body look just the face style and the way the artist drew it.



I read a few x men and the non Rob Liefeld X force and I felt the same way about them too. I guess there not my type of comic. I'll just stick to the ones I like but if your interested in this type of comic please check it out. I was probably no help to you but hey at least I gave my opinion on it :)

Avengers Arena

I didn't start reading this comic because some people said it wasn't that good and I probably wouldn't like it. It was up until my friends told me Arcade was the main villain and the group of avengers are stuck in murderworld fighting each other to survive. That was all I had to hear so I got what they had. I got issue 1 and 4. Still need to get 2 and 3 whenever I get time to go to the comic store but I don't know when I can :P ( other then my regular shop I go to)


The first one I thought was good. It started to unfold the story to the reader like every 1st issue. Arcade in it I will say is different. He has magic powers and he grew his hair out long which is ok. Personally I like it better short and flicked out. Makes him look more crazy and I didn't really see his big smirky smile on his face. Maybe it's in the other issues but I will say its awesome so far! I just can't wait to get the others to read but I have so many comics I want right now!


I did find some comic shops with more comics of Arcade I'll have to check out sometime. Until then I shall be reading the comics I have and catch up on a few story's I haven't completed yet.

Avengers academy Arcade death game

I finally got around to reading a trade I should of read awhile ago. Things don't go as I plan them to go it seems. You get too busy and can't do much.

The story starts out with the young avengers getting the day off to relax and have fun without getting into trouble. As things always goes trouble finds them. There all captured and taken to Arcades tiny murderworld to face his evil games. I actually don't want to ruin this story of arcade because I think it's one you should check out. Too much to describe with the games and all and is better left for you all to read if your interested. Overall I thought it was good my things that I didn't like much were Arcades murder methods he used. It seemed to me he played around too much and didn't try to kill his victims like he usually does. The other thing was the facial style for him. What the heck is with the black blob around his eyes? Personally I think his cooler with his flicked out orange hair and the huge smile on his face. Funny thing is I like to flick my hair out too. It looks cool :P




One other thing I will say I liked about the comic was the extra's at the end. They showed 2 bonus comics arcade was in and the very last page of the book showed his whole profile which is awesome! I think I will blog about that later when I learn a bit more about his methods and more about him too. So if your a fan like me or just looking for something to read to pass the time check out this book. It's worth reading.

Excalibur

I've recently gotten a few Excalibur comics mostly because I knew Arcade was in it ( my fav villain) but I have to say I really like them. Some of the ones I thought Arcade was in he wasn't or I picked up the ones I remembered seeing the cover of when researching the comics. They were all really good and kept my attention the whole time.



Out of the whole team I think Captain Britain is my favorite. His the leader but I can tell his goal other then saving the world/day is making sure his team is in one piece and everyone is ok. That's what I like about heroes. They care about everyone else and would risk there life for everyone. Most of you are probably thinking well isn't that what they all do? Well yea it is but most of them don't put that much effort in that. I think I'm going to have to get more of there comics next time I go to the comic shop. When I learn more I'll probably do a full Excalibur blogpost on everyone. Until then I got some reading to do on them :D

Excalibur featuring Arcade

I've been doing a lot of researching over the last few days of comics with arcade in it. First introduced to me in The Thing 2006 comic series and is my number one favorite villain. A lot of people haven't heard of him so I guessing his not a well known person. I know for sure I think his cool!


This whole comic is about arcade. He steals Captain Britain's former girlfriend Courtney Ross and threw her into an Alice in wonderland type of Murderworld. All the Excalibur have switched body's with a variation Tweedle made ( you don't find that out till the end). They all are fighting each other while trying to survive in Murderworld.


While Arcade is watching he says he is really bored already. Right after he says that Shadow cat pops through the computer and says she can change that and drags him into his own little game. She leaves behind her fire breathing dragon so miss Locke and the other guy ( didn't say his name) can't mess with the controls.


Leaving him in his own game he has to survive like the rest of them and in the mean time he has fun with it. Overall I thought it was a really funny arcade comic. The other ones his a little more serious but they are still good. If you don't know who he is or if you do you should check it out. It's worth it.

Fear the comic with Captain America and Ghost Rider

This comic was a present from my brother for my birthday. He was really excited to give it to me because it was the 17th issue out of 750 and was signed by Lee Weeks which is cool.

The whole book starts out with these doctors doing surgery on some person. There all complaining about if its right until the one doctor says what's done is done. The surgery was a success and they all just wanted to go home until the guy woke up and started killing everyone saying mommy. It then jumps to Ghost rider trying to save these hostages inside a store because the cops aren't really doing anything. He go in and helps them out and the sad part is everyone thinks his bad which he isn't. He try's to help this one man out but he yells stay away then holds his chest saying my heart. The cops then shoot so Ghost rider jumps on his bike and drives away. His confused and angry they they didn't realize he was saving them. Typical cops though.

The next day Dan (Ghost rider) reads the paper about himself and how the man died of a heart attack. Angry he throws the paper and his girlfriend Stacy asks what's wrong. He tells her he doesn't understand why people think Ghost Rider is bad when his trying to help. She starts arguing about how his a criminal and how Dan changed after he got attacked by and animal that made him black out( turned into ghost rider is what they really are talking about) . Then she starts saying how they really need to find this scarecrow guy and leaves for work.

Captain Dolain get a talking to by the director about his obsession with Ghost Rider. He tells him to drop it until they find the scarecrow guy then he can go back to Ghost rider which he wasn't happy to hear. You finally see scarecrow again spotting out people to kill. He picks out two young teenagers in love and slaughters them with a pitchfork. A cop car comes by and he just has to look at the people and they all start to get scared. They don't want to move they can't even really think. Scarecrow takes out the one police officer and the other one is Dans girlfriend! She's scared and doesn't know what to do. Scarecrow keeps calling her mommy and saying I'm a good boy, I'll never run away and stuff like that. Typical talk from a crazy person. He they knocks Stacy out with his pitchfork and goes away.


Dan is out driving on his motorcycle and his pendent on his bike tells him there is trouble so he turns into ghost rider and follows the cop cars. At the crime scene where the cop and kids got killed there is Captain America! His talking to the Captain and tells him these were signs for him to come. Captain America went against scarecrow before and told why he turned crazy. His mom abused him a d was a heavy drinker when he was little. His father divorced her and took him away so she could never see him again. Even after all that he said he was closer to his mom! The Captain of the police is angry because scarecrow took his daughter. would you look at that Ghost rider is dating his daughter and her dad is chasing him. They all talk a bit more about it until one of the officers says Ghost rider is here. He up on top of the roof looking down on everyone. Captain America says he will handle it and goes up of the roof with him.

Ghost rider tells Captain he wants to help and that his good. Captain already could tell he was and even when he said he would handle talking to Ghost Rider the police have to get involved and run up the the building to the roof. Captain jumps on his bike and they drive to Scarecrows old house. Dan's girlfriend is tied up to a cross and wakes up to scarecrow calling her mommy. he then shoves a pitchfork to her and she faints. Some bad guys that paid for the surgery want him found to work for them so they set out looking for him. When they arrive Captain arrives at the house, he goes in the front door while Ghost Rider covers the roof.


Calling out Scarecrow he gets talked out the door to the ground and starts fighting him. The fear starts to get to Captain and luckily before he got stabbed Ghost rider flung Scarecrow to the roof with him and fights him up there. Captain Dolian of the police drives up and says his helping save his daughter so him and Captain America run through the front door to see if they can find herald see if she's alive. Scarecrow sees and shoots Dow the chimney like Santa Claus which pisses Ghost rider off so he smashes thought he window.

Inside the house there's people slaughtered everywhere. Dolian gets scared and rushes up every floor to find his daughter. Ghost rider see's all the innocent blood and asks himself can he control himself with not taking a life. More fighting happens but when Ghost rider is fighting he stops and says I cant kill you. Captain America and Dolian come in the room and the two of them see Stacy on a cross. She has straw stuffed him her mouth so they think scarecrow killed her and stuffed her. She wakes up and says she's fine they start to untie her but Scarecrow yells leave mommy alone and charges Captain with the pitchfork. Flinging him on the ground he says his the Scarecrow and blah blah blah. The daughter shoots him in the head and says his under arrest. You freaking shot him in the head lady.

He still comes towards them and yells they can't catch him. He starts to run so Ghost Rider gets his chain and wraps it around his leg. Scarecrow jumps out the window and gets stabbed by the fence. Ghost rider then says he only wanted to stop him but Captain America said it wasn't his fault, he tried to escape.

The police come and the ambience. They tend to everyone else and leave Scarecrows body on the fence. The bad guys come up and see his talking and pulling himself off the fence. They ask him if he wants to get vengeance and spread his fear. That's how it ends.


Overall I thought it was pretty good but the only thing is I didn't understand why the police and ambiance left him on the fence and didn't take him away. I'm still learning about comics and stuff but that made no seance to me.

Captain marvel

I recently just finished this book of Captain Marvel. It's all the issues just in one book which is really nice. The funny thing is when I was reading it I ignored everything around me like it wasn't there. It was like the book sucked me in and I was just watching everything which was cool!

Overall I really enjoyed it. There was a lot of action, tragedy, and secrets revealed. I was looking for this Captain Marvel for awhile now and actually picked up the book I bought a few months ago. Last week my friends down at the comic shop showed me the book The death of Captain Marvel which I couldn't turn down. I also got a few issues he was in which I have to read them all. I always share my comics with my friend so I usually wait to read most of them.


If you want something to read check out this Captain Marvel book. I would say more about the book but there was so much detail it it I'm just gonna let you hanging until you read it. I will say I think the Secret Invasion issues follow this one and you will find that out towards the end. Read it!!! You won't be disappointed :)

Ant man part 2

I feel like I'm jumping around with the post's but I'm not. This is only my third one and so far I think I'm doing it right. I just feel like giving my opinion in comics and telling you what there about to see if its something you would want to read. So for this post it's part 2 of Ant man!


The last issue it left you wanting to know what was coming next. The big red guy want to destroy Ant man. The two fight and Ant man gets smacked around like a little bug and gets knocked out cold. Ant man then wakes up chained to a cell bed so he can't escape. Not long after waking up the big red guy comes in and explained who he is. His name is Darren Cross. Darren built an empire building that was everything he hoped to get. He was a hard worker and from working so long and hard he had a heart attack. The doctor said he would have to retire but that was something he couldn't do. He did research and actually got a nucle-organic pacemaker. There was a lot of danger with it but he didn't care. The surgery was risky and it turned him into the red monster he is. The only bad part is he needs so many heart surgery's to stay alive. Every time he gets a heart put in that he steals from people it is only for for so long because of the pressure and him working it to hard.


He then shows Ant man all the people he kidnaped and stole there hearts. There walking zombies and look like crap. Darren tells him his going to take his heart to use and then goes away. Without his shrinking gases and antenna's he can't do anything, luckily he had a spare one hidden in his boot and quickly contacted the ants. They searched for the gas canisters and gave them to him quick before the guards came to take him away for surgery. Ant man quickly beats them up and finds Darren. They battle for a bit but not very long. Darren fell over and died because he stressed his heart to much and Ant man saves the doctor! His daughter gets her surgery and black jacket pays him a visit. Scott tell him his ready to go to jail for stealing the outfit but is surprised what he says. Black jacket tells him to keep the super hero identity and live on being ant man.


It was a good issue. Personally I couldn't ask for a better one. Ant man is just cool in general and will always be my favorite super hero :D

The Thing

I actually never really liked the Fantastic Four much. I watched the movies years ago when they first came out and I was like there ok but not one of my favorite super heroes. I've been trying to watch the movies again before the new Fantastic Four movie comes out but I still never found the time yet. Anyway it wasn't until my one friend told me to read this comic series that I fell in love with them. I'm always looking for a good fantastic four issue now. I'm just going to review issue 2 because I thought is was a really good one. They will were good but I like this one and the third one the best.

The thing from the FF is showing his popular and famous side off. He is dating an actor ( who I think is just using him) and they go to a party. Tony Stark is even at the party along with another superhero and one villain. At the party they get attacked by this thing statue and wake up on a place called murder island. The guy in charge of the place is called Arcade. I have to tell you his actually a really cool villain. Arcade has a crazy but creative side on how to kill people. That probably sounds crazy but his a really cool guy. He wants to let these people go on the island to wander through his amusement park and try to find there way to this safety circle. Smart move on his part but the catch is the circle is really small and everyone would have to stack up on top of each other. If someone is outside the circle after a few seconds they wont get off the island. Every super hero/ villain has there suite on except Tony. I really thought it was interesting how they went though the obstacles and what they had to do to get past them. If you want a good read check it out. I probably would of never touched this comic if it wasn't for my friend. :D

Ant man!

Ant man one of my favorite super heroes. This is the first comic book I ever got of him. If you don't know who ant man is you should. His a super hero that can shrink to the size of an ant and beat the crap out of people. How does he do that? Well ant man shrinks down by these gases he mixed up that make things shrink and grow. He still has all the strength he normally has when his normal size. He can also fly on ants and call all kinds of bugs to help him.

So the story begins with Scott Lang in ant man's suit. The original ant man is Hank Pym but gave up being him to be Yellow Jacket. So Scott Lang stole it from his science lab to track down Dr. Sondheim. In finding her he can get a surgery no other doctor can do to save his daughter Cassie. He finds Dr. Sondheim doing a surgery on someone and is then surrounded by guys with guns.

Well what can you do when your surrounded by guns? That's right beat the crap out of them and that's just what he did. Two guards actually get a hold of him so ant man shrinks down with an army of ants. They wash him away with water and he sits there thinking about his daughter and how he stole the ant man suite. Then he calls a bunch of ants and goes back to the doctor again to beat the crap out of more guys with guns. Ant man finally asks her to go with him to go see a real patient that needs help. That's when this big ugly almost red hulk like gets off the operation table and says his going to destroy ant man.

It keeps you hanging until you get the next issue but other than that I thought it was good. It catches you up on the next ant man too!
