The jerky connection

I would like to congratulate the jersey connection for a job well done! My family's business placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the heat awards down in Texas. We started making jerky as a hobby but people wanted to buy it off of us. They said it was so good they wanted more so we made more. Soon enough we had people telling us we should make a business out of it and we did.

Starting in April we had a ruff start with paying for the equipment and bills. We hoped the sales would help us out but everyone knows you don't pay yourself back for 5 years when you have a business. My father, the mad scientist behind all the mixing and creating of new favors has done a really good job hanging in there along with my mother, sister and my brother. There are still ruff patches we hit every now and then but we get through it together. We are still making more flavors too! Can you believe it!

Check us out some time. We have over 35 favors of jerky ranging from original to blow your head off spicy! We are also located in Saturdays market along with C & C's comic cave and other great stands. Again Congratulation Jerky Connection!

Here is what we won. The golden pepper award for the best tasting and spicy jerky!

Hero's that caught my eye #4

My friends down at the comic shop just introduced me to Power Girl. I have to say she's actually pretty cool. I don't have that many girl superheroes that I like or haven't been introduced to yet to say I like a bunch of them.

I know for sure I really don't care for wonder woman. I never really liked her as a kid and I still don't like her now. I feel that she's always showing off to Superman and all the JLA how good she is but she's not. Sure she saves people but geez look at her. She has to pick an outfit that is like glued to her and makes you want to look at her particularly guys. I will admit she is pretty but she doesn't need to go around showing herself off. It's probably a girl thing to dislike other girl superheroes we think make other superheroes look bad, but I know others say the same thing.

Now for power girl she can't help having big boobs. I know people that hate it and she probably does too. It's one thing that always attracts guys attention for some reason. Personally I don't find it attractive or the butt either. It's art as some artist would say. Yea when I was a kid I freaked out about nude people like everyone else but now its like eh. It's just the body. Power girl always has the guys eyes going down to her chest and she always has to guide there eyes back up to hers.

I think she kicks butt! She is a really pretty girl too. Her fighting style is awesome and she puts all her effect into saving the earth no matter if she has to die and that's what gets my attention. Your probably thinking isn't that what all the superheroes do? Well yea they all do but some fight for other reasons and for her that's all she has. Save the world or die trying and that's how people respect you.

The hobbit video

I saw this vid when I was messing around on YouTube with my friend. We were watching behind the scene shooting of the hobbit and I saw this vid. It's really good and I think is worth checking out. Something funny to watch if your bored :D

Villain's that caught my eye #4

Loki one of my personal favorites. I watched the Avengers before watching Captain America and Thor ( I never got the chance to watch them. This was before I got into comics and all Superhero stuff). In Avengers I thought he was the best super villain. Tom Hiddleston plays the role really good I think. They couldn't of picked a better person to play Loki.

I've read a few comics with Loki here and there and his always getting into trouble with the avengers or causing trouble on Asgard. My favorite I got recommended was journey into mystery where Loki gets turned into a little kid. I picked up at 620 something but man was it good! My favorite part of the one was when little Loki said something about using an iPad or how he said it " your pad of I". It was funny.

The only thing I didn't really understand was why was he listening or taking orders from 3 women? I know I jumped in and all but really? Loki the god of mischief taking orders from a women ( nothing against us women). It doesn't seem right or he might be looking to get something out of them. I don't know but I shall figure it out!

Over all he places 2nd on my villain list which is really good. For all you Loki fans I do what I want!

Superhero game

You ever sit down and randomly ask someone theses questions before?

" If you could be any superhero who would you be and who would your partner be?"

"If you were a villain who would you be and who would you hire to fight with you?"

I do that all the time and I think it's really fun. These were my choices. For marvel I would be Ant girl (ant man). I really like him I mean who wouldn't want to grow big and shrink tinny. Plus you get to talk to bugs which is freaking awesome! My partner would be Hawkeye. He has a good eye and if needed I could shrink tinny and ride his arrow over to the bad guy or to place we would have to go to.

The villains were hard to choice from. I mean there are so many cool ones. These were my choices though. If I could be one it would have to be the Grimm reaper. You get to have a huge scythe and everything. My partner I would hire if they would want me is Doctor Doom but he tends to work alone unless he really needs someone.

DC choices were these. I would be Supergirl and my partner would be Superboy from the 90's I read a few comics with her and she was alright. Superboys my favorite so he would totally be my partner!

Vivian's I would be Cat woman ( a lot of people say its debatable about her being good or bad) and I'm not quite sure on my partner. I don't know much on DC to chose people. I heard its bad right now so I tend to stay away but I should read some of there good older stuff before they went to crap.

These were my choices what are yours?

The Hobbit

I finally saw the Hobbit and it was amazing! Everything they did with the movie was great. The graphics were excellent, the actors did a really good job and they ended it perfectly ( makes people scream because they wanted to see more). I can't wait for the second one to come out!

A lot of people probably would of taken me for the type that doesn't care for Lord of the rings but I watched it when I was 4. I remember most of the older movies but not all of them. The fighting parts are easy to remember and most of the little things here and there too. My favorite character from the older movies was Legolas. I always wanted to be like him when I was little. Shooting bows like a little Robin Hood and everything.

In the new movie my favorite was Bilbo played by Martin Freeman. I think his a good actor. The only way I heard about him or knew about him was from the BBC show Sherlock. It's one of the best British shows right next to Doctor Who. One of the most well known roles right now for him too. Bilbo is a sweet, gentle hobbit that doesn't understand much but I think catches on to things quickly after so long. He wants no trouble but I think the trouble gets attracted right to him. I love how its all about the adventure his going on. If I had the choice I would join there team too and fight the evil that dwells on the land taking back what is wright fully ours!

I looked up Lord of the rings 1st movie to catch up on thing I forgotten and its 3 hours and 47 mins long! What the crap! It's a lot to watch but I never knew you could have a movie almost 4 hours long. I'm going to watch it hopefully this week. I even bought the whole book set to read. It comes Tuesday and I can't wait. Feel like such a nerd now :P

Villains that caught my eye #3

The Grim reaper I would have to say is really cool looking. I read some heroes for hire today and he was in it. His antlers (as I would call it) remind me of Aku from a cartoon called Samurai Jack. I love that show! I watched it since the day it was on tv and now I miss it. They don't play the good stuff anymore. I'll have to buy the dvd's of it.

What I like about him is the huge synth he has. I'm guessing he doesn't have a hand that its there. Some people that I've seen have the arm knifes or guns but still have there hands. I don't know right now if he does or doesn't. He wasn't really in it that much but what I saw from him fighting he was on my top villain list. The best part about the synth was it can turn into a saw! Also the girls shoved his head the toilet. Wouldn't you want to do that?

Yep meeting new Villains and everything. I'm going to have to get more comics of them all!

Hero's that caught my eye #3

Hawkeye the bow archer everyone should know. I actually never heard about him until the Avenger movie. The only one I actually knew about was the Green Arrow. I used to watch him on the cartoon show Justice League. That was the superhero show at the time until they made other cooler ones but still it's one of my favorites.

I got to know him by some of the Avengers comics and one of my personal favorites about him Avengers west coast. It mainly shows him leading a group of avengers and what he has to go through in battles and stuff. There really good for some of the older comics. ( not saying anything bad about the older comics. There actually my favorite things to read.)

The issues that I recently just finished and Marvel just finished was the Marvel Universe vs The Avengers featuring Hawkeye of course. I would of never known or heard about it if it was for the guys down at the comic shop. I thank them for that! :D

There were only 4 issues but they were the best! I liked them more then the Secret Invasion. I have the Wolverine vs the Marvel Universe which I am going to read next and on my list to buy is the Punisher Vs Marvel Universe. There all based on the same thing which is awesome!

Anyway Hawkeye is cool in general. He can shoot anything anywhere which is really impressive. His not one for all the fancy superpowers but he has one hell of a shot with his bow and arrows.

Oh jobs how I love them!

Don't you just love having a job? Personally I don't but its what you have to do to live. I thought my job was the best until recently.

I watch 3 kids that live in a rich family, doesn't sound to bad so far. I love them to death but I think I have to quit soon. Why? I'm getting sick all the time and it's not even funny.

I used to just get sick maybe once a year if that but now it's all the time and I don't know why. I know when you watch kids you tend to get whatever they have but not like me. For me I would get sick during the summer and about all winter long but whatever I have now its the last straw.

My body for some reason can't handle it. I'm 17! I shouldn't be getting sick like that. My family said its time to get another job and I agree with them. I personally think if I don't leave soon I might get something I really don't want.

Well off to find another job I guess and hopefully they will let me take off ever Saturday or at least work evenings that day if I can. Life sucks but what really sucks is when you have to hunt for a new job in an economy that's not doing good. Wish me luck!

Villain's that caught my eye #2

One of my all time favorite crazy villains is Arcade. You just can't hate the guy.

I first got introduced to him in The Thing issues # 1-3. First impression when I saw him.... this guy is awesome! I mean look at him! He has the white suite on with a big bow, orange hair and a crazy look on his face.

He has an amusement park called Murderworld which he brings his victims to. They have to go through the maze like park to try and find there way out and don't forget to not die! Arcade is a Genius in a number of technological fields. I wonder who would be smarter him or Tony? I probably already know that answer but I think it's something interesting to think bout.

His main enemy's that I know are the X men. I never read an issue yet of him going against them but I have a set I plan on getting this weekend. I also saw him with Spider-Man that looks like this. It's an older issue but I hope to find it.

It seems like I tend to like the crazy heroes and villains and sometimes I don't even know it until someone tells me for example Hank Pym (aka Ant Man, Yellowjacket, Giant man, and so on). I heard he goes crazy and has to get locked up! Why Hank! I wish he would of just stayed Ant man but Scott Lang was until he died and then Eric o' Grady took over. I think personally Eric is the funniest and a really cool Ant man. I shall do a review soon on him. Anyway Arcade is cool so if you don't know who he is check him out. Trust me is totally worth is and if you find yourself at the gates of Murderworld I wish you luck my friends, your going to need it :P Here is a picture I drew of him! Shows how much I like this crazy guy :D

Hero's that caught my eye #2

Superboy! His one of my all time favorite heroes. I got introduced to him but at first was like ummmmm I'm not sure if I'm going to like him. I gave it a shot and less then 30 later was back at the comic stand asking for more. The issue I read was when he was first introduced in the Superman comics. I really don't care for superman. I find him boring but that's just my opinion. I then got into his own comic series.

His a punkish teen clone of Superman that is learning things the hard way sometimes. The leather jacket and buzzed hair go perfect since he was created in the 90's. I don't like newer Superboy with the longer black hair, regular S shirt and jeans. Not the way I like him. Bring out the jacket, sunglasses, and buzzed hair and were good to go.

Dc has really gone Down hill lately. It's not as good as it was years ago. I see them falling in the future unless they get there crap together. Superboy and just a few other superheroes I actually like. The new 51 Superboy I didn't even touch because I heard all 51 issues were bad.

If you want a good read check out the 90's Superboy you won't regret it. I'm trying to collect them all right now and when I get a few more I'm going to read them all at once. I can't wait till I have them all!

Villain's that caught my eye #1

You can't like comics if you don't have heroes and villains you find interesting. It would be pointless and not even worth your time. I said before I really never cared for the fantastic four until my friends down at my favorite comic shop told me to read The Thing which was amazing! From there I got fantastic four unthinkable and so on. One villain everyone knows is Doom.

His name says it all! I've read a few issues with him in it and his what I would consider not really a scary villain. Maybe that's because I never really saw him really mad, but until I see something really cool or messed up I probably won't change my mind. His name makes me feel like we should be scared of him like his the big cheese of us all. I say eh :P

I'm not really sure who else is the fantastic four's villains other then him. Until then that's all I have to say. He will probably be brought up again in the future when I learn more but until then hang in there :D

Comic shop's in general

As I said before I'm still kind of new to the comic world. What shocks me is its almost a year and I know what I would consider a lot but to others very little. One thing I know for sure is what comic shops are good and bad.

For just about every comic shop you expect the people to know what the hell your talking about. If you wants certain issue they know where it is, have it or can get it for you, if you have a question about a superhero or villain they know everything about it, stuff like that. There is probably only 2 comic shops I went to that I got to know or been to a few times that the people know what the hell there talking about.

I've been to a comic shop called DC comics close to my house about 5 times and 4 of them were really quick visits. The people are really nice and love to help you out which is awesome. It's kind of tiny but that doesn't bother me. The one comic shop I know well is called C & C's comic cave. They know what the hell there talking about. Ask them a question and they know it right away. I've been going to this shop for awhile now and I really like it. There shop is inside a place called Saturday's market which is cool. There hoping to get a shop soon and when they do its totally my new hang out joint.

On the other hand there are some shops that don't know anything at all. The first one that comes to my mind is Dimension X. This shop is also located in Saturday's market as well. I went to this stand for a bit until C & C's comic cave because they had a shit load of comics 20 for 5 and 50 for 10. Sounds like a good deal but trust me you literally have to dig for some good stuff if you can find some. They told me awhile ago that C & C's comic cave had crap and there stand was cheaper so at the time I believed it. I was buying some of the 20 for 5 at the time and this guy agreed with him. He said this " Yea that's right. Dimension X is probably one of the best comic shops ever. The other comic shops in this market are pieces of shit. If you want some good comics you've got to come here. I've been going here for what.... 2 1/2 years and I'm still coming back for more comics." ........ Yea surprised I remembered that but how could I not. The guy sounded pissed and looked like he was going to kill someone. The owner Jason agreed with him, shook his had and the guy left saying he would be back next week.

Now remember this, I didn't know that much about the other shop until I went to it a few times back and forth from D to C. I had a lot of comics I wanted and C ( just going with that) had almost all of them and cheaper then D. I stopped going there and was glad. Occasionally I went there to ask if they had an issue neither had and when I asked ( this is funny) the guys looked at each other, shook there heads laughed a little and said we don't know what your talking about.

What the hell! If you have a comic shop you should at least know something about them. I asked about Ant man, marvel zombies, secret invasion and marvel fairytales. They didn't know anything. I bet if I asked them about batman they wouldn't know who the heck I was talking about or even flash. Another shop didn't know what I was talking about and if they did it was all wrong. They had high prices so I didn't buy from them.

I don't know much about comic shops but I do know this. If you don't know what your talking about and are just selling the stuff for money you need to get the !$#* out of the comic industry. Your just effecting everyone else and making them look bad. My recommendation don't go to Dimension X if you live near then. It's not worth your time.

Hero's that caught my eye #1

My friend landshrksattacks told me I should do blogs on heroes I discovered from reading my favorite heroes comics that caught my eye. The first one that I thought of was Wiccan and Speed.

I first found these two guy from reading the secret invasion. I only had a few issues at the time but they stood out right away. I didn't know who they were at the time but I did a lot of researching just to find out there names. It turned out there the son's of the Scarlet Witch which is awesome!

Out of the two I really like Speed. I always liked the idea of having super speed and running all over the world really fast like Flash or Sonic. The sliver hair is a good touch and I'm a little jealous of his goggles. I always wanted a pair to wear around my neck everyday but never got the chance to buy one yet. Also I always wanted sliver hair. Your probably thinking what the heck that's old people's hair but I think personally its cool. I would want that and purple eyes if I could.

My friend thinks Wiccan is cooler but I'm always saying Speed. His hyper and full of energy. Wiccan on the other hand seems like the cool and on top of things guy which isn't bad. Personally I always enjoyed the loud and energetic heroes for the most part.

Well after finding these two I wanted more comics of them so I got some young avengers and now I'm trying to get my hands on young avengers children's crusade. I just can't wait to read more about

them!

If you haven't checked out this blog sight you should.

Star Trek, new to this noob

I absolutely loved the new remake movie but I know others that would argue with me for hours probably.( not going to say any names :P ) Then my friend introduced me to the tv show Next generation. I watched one episode and I was like WOW!!!! It was really good.

Watching a few episodes here and there I started to like it more and more. I then watched a few episodes of voyager and the original 1966 Star Trek but I didn't like it as much as Next Gen. but they were still good. Would I consider liking it more then the movie....yes but I will say something about both. The show shows more adventures with the crew and the enterprise which is great. I got to see other alien races in the show and all different kind of problems the crew faces in space. On the other hand the more is more up to date, has action and the graphics are really good. Just looking at the next movie coming out soon makes me more in a Star Trek mood! It looks really good and I can't wait to see it when it comes out. I'll still like the movie but the next gen. tv series is my fave so far.

I a sucker for nerdy stuff but I just can't help it. So for my friend that argued with me about the movie you won, but know this. It's not about hating it because its not like the tv series, it's about trying out new stuff and giving it a chance. :)
